# Discovering Shows, Acts, and Venues

Find live music happening tonight, explore local bands and entertainers, and bookmark your favorites so you never miss a performance.

## Search across everything

Use the search bar in the hero section on the home page (or the global search bar in the header) to look up acts, venues, and named shows at the same time. Type at least two characters to see instant results grouped into **Acts**, **Venues**, and **Shows**, then click any result to open its detail page.

## Browse upcoming shows

Open **Shows** (`/shows`) to see upcoming performances across all active venues and acts.

**Views**

Switch between **Grid** (poster cards), **List** (compact rows), and **Calendar** (monthly schedule organized in the local gig timezone). Signed-in users can save their preferred view mode and page size.

**Date presets**

Filter shows using quick presets — **Today**, **This Weekend**, **This Week**, or **Next Week** — or pick a custom start and end date range.

**Filters**

Open the filters panel to narrow shows by **Show Title**, **Act Name**, **Venue Name**, **City**, **State**, and **Genres**. Combine directory filters with the [Location Bar](https://www.goclubin.net/docs/getting-started.md#set-your-local-search-area) radius filter to focus on nearby gigs.

## Browse bands, entertainers, and venues

- **Bands** (`/bands`) and **Entertainers** (`/entertainers`) list active performer profiles. Filter by name, city, state, musical genres, or act type, and switch between grid and list layouts.
- **Venues** (`/venues`) lists taverns, bars, lounges, and performance spaces. Filter by venue name, city, state, or the genres performed there.

Each public profile displays the act or venue's active content sections — such as upcoming and past shows, biographies, band members, songlists, photo carousels, audio playlists, media showcases, and blog posts.

## Save and manage favorites

When signed in, click the heart icon on any supported item to add it to **My Favorites** (`/favorites`).

You can bookmark five types of items:

- **Bands and Entertainers**: Jump straight to the performer's public profile.
- **Venues**: Keep track of your favorite neighborhood spots.
- **Shows**: Save upcoming gigs with their scheduled date and time.
- **Audio Tracks**: Bookmark individual songs uploaded to an act's audio player.
- **Media Clips**: Save embedded YouTube, Vimeo, Spotify, or SoundCloud items from an act or venue's media showcase.

On the **My Favorites** page, filter your saved items by type (**All Types**, **Bands**, **Entertainers**, **Venues**, **Shows**, **Tracks**, or **Media**) or search by keyword. Click the remove button on any row to take it off your list.
